iPREP WA is a unique collaboration between the five WA universities and has been established for PhD candidates who may not have had previous industry experience. The program involves interdisciplinary teams of researchers, working on a six week project (with scholarship) for an industry partner during their thesis examination period. Industry partners range from start-up’s and SME’s through to large corporations and government departments and their projects focus on solving authentic workplace problems.

Applications are now open for the next round running from 17th July – 25th August.

BUSINESS
Previous industry partners have seen huge benefits from participating in the program including financial savings (particularly consultancy fees and staff time), innovative and evidence based solutions to a business problem and exclusive access to an elite recruitment pool.

Industry Partner CSIRO engaged with the program in the last round and mentor Eric Bastholm was happy with the outcome. “The iPREP initiative provided us with a great opportunity to work with capable people and achieve something tangible in a short time. The timing of this project was very convenient as we did not have internal resources to achieve this goal, which is swiftly becoming a priority.”

If your business is looking to address an opportunity or fast track a project and could benefit from the expertise of three interdisciplinary PhD researchers, submit an expression of interest form to iprepwa@ecu.edu.au
